You do not have to travel to New Mexico, Colorado or Wyoming to experience first-hand the majesty and power of two mature bull elk battling it out for supremacy. Although, originally native to Texas, since the late 19th century elk have been hunted out and pushed north by human encroachment. As a part of a localized effort to reintroduce this once native species to Texas, Escondido Ranch is proud to be the home of an extensive herd of these graceful animals which now roam the South Central Texas hills and valleys as in the times gone-by.
